An estimated 10,000 people gathered in a remote field in Kenya for a five-day crusade recently to hear a Pentecostal minister from Birmingham preach.
Bishop Demetrics Roscoe, pastor of Living Church Ministries since 1980, and his wife, co-pastor Pauline, led the evangelistic meetings.
The Roscoes left Birmingham on Dec. 20 and returned Dec. 28 2006.
"A pastor there wanted to set up a Christmas crusade," Roscoe said. "They had cleared a field for 5,000 people. They overcrowded the fields."
The Kenyan Fellowship of Churches invited Roscoe because of his work through a group of international evangelists.
"I came to serve them," Roscoe said. "The Bible says we are to preach the gospel to every person."
Two years ago, Roscoe went to Pakistan where he led services for a group of Pentecostal Christians and met with Islamic leaders. The Pentecostal group in Pakistan held a ceremony and made him a bishop with ceremonial authority over congregations there. Read More>>
