BIBLICAL TRUTHS
Webster Dictionary and the American Heritage Dictionary define Hallow as holy, consecrated, and honored. With characters such as bats, ghosts, skeletons, witches, and black cats; we know that the entity being reverenced is not that of our Heavenly Father.
Halloween night represents all types of mischief and candied apples, drugs in other food items, and ungodly sacrifices. “Our Father which art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name” 9matthew 6:9)
Our Holy Father is the only name to be hallowed (honored, reverenced, and consecrated). “That He would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hands of our enemies might serve Him without fear in holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.” (Luke 1:74, 75)
God has not given us the spirit of fear, but love, power and a sound mind. Halloween is set aside to inject fear and to dishonor God. Paul denounced the former practices of the Ephesians because their practices had direct spiritual contact with other gods. Paul’s teaching of Christianity was for one to forsake all other gods for a pure relationship with Jesus Christ. (Acts 19:24-28)
Gal. 4:9-11 tells us, “But now, after ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years (seasons). I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labor in vain.”
Through the ages, Halloween has several different names, but all have been tributes to the same dark force, Satan.
Tradition tells us that we must give the children candy; it’s just in fun. Jesus Christ, our high priest, instructs us to commemorate His torn body and the shedding of His blood by communing with Him as often as we will (1 Cor. 11:25). Cunningly, Satan disguises communion through Halloween party food items.
“If any of them that believe not, bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you eat, asking no question for conscience sake. (1 Cor. 10:27, 28)
But if any man say unto you, this is offered in sacrifice unto idols; eat not for his sake that shewed, for the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.”
It is not the candy that is demonic or anti-Christian; it is what the candy represents. Such participation places a Christian in alliance with occult practices.
“What agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” (2 Cor. 6:16)
The uninformed Christian has no idea that they are contacting demon spirits, in jest or in seriousness. Every act around Halloween is in honor of false gods which are spirits in the realm of the satanic. There is Scriptural proof that pacts can be made with the realm of darkness, “We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement…” (Isa. 28:15)
Those who have been deeply involved in witchcraft and who are now free, declare that even those who say they worship spirits of nature are in actuality contacting the satanic realm, unknowingly.
“What say I then? That the idol is anything, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is anything? But I say, the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God; and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils, ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord’s Table, and of the table of devils. Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He? (1 Cor. 10:19-22)
Why has the Church compromised today? Because of pressures from the world, the Church has digressed to a function called All Saint’s Day to appease those who are tenaciously unwilling to yield to God. Unfortunately, this is a situation that has led to a compromise which closely resembles Catholic practices.
In our research, we found up to forty-three saints to whom homage was paid. These were humans who were said to have been responsible for different miracles; henceforth, they were ratified as saints by the Catholic Church. November 1st was the day set aside to honor them. On “All Hallows Day” or “All Halloweens” a feast or a mass was held in the Catholic Church. Each saint had a special day for his commemoration.
Dead saints were prayed to or invoked by men and were expected to intercede for the person who called on their names. This doctrine opposes the faith and trust in which the Christian Church should have in God alone. In my opinion, Catholic doctrines, regarding “saints” are very similar to the old pagan ideas that were held regarding the gods “. Catholics are people who love God. My purpose is not to discriminate against the people, but to clarify the Protestant’s (churches that are not a part of the Catholic religion) position against what we consider a form of idolatry. Let us not confuse this issue with the people. It is because of this system of belief that the Christian Church is divided and is the reason Martin Luther separated himself from Catholicism and established the Protestant Church.
In other research, we went back as far as Babylon where we found people who prayed and honored a plurality of gods. This includes up to 5,000 gods or goddesses. This information was found in Babylon Mystery Religion, Saints, Days and Symbols. In much the same way as Catholics believed concerning their saints, Babylonians believed in their gods as being once heroes, but now “gods” existing on a higher plane. This religion is the main foundation of our modern day Halloween. The worship of multi-deities gave birth to serving gods at different times and seasons. Paul addressed this group in the Book of Acts when he spoke of the temple of the multi-gods. Paul also mentions in Galatians about the seasons, times, and days. Paganism is observed in all walks of life in today’s society, by teachers and politicians, and it can be closely linked with the modern form of witchcraft. In summary; Halloween, its origin and its foundation was a religion that literally opposed the doctrine of Christ.
LET US PRAY
Lord, God of Heaven and Earth, Who made all things, and Who is the Father of all creation; I thank You for opening my understanding of spiritual warfare. I acknowledge you as my Heavenly Father. Hallowed is Your Name, only. I repent for my involvement with Halloween. Since I now understand that this day is not representative of You, nor is it a day for Christian observance. I ask forgiveness through Your Son, Jesus Christ. I also pray forgiveness for my parents, my friends, my school, and/or my church if they are participating in any of the abominations described in this book. As I share this book with others, let it be a blessing to bring many unto salvation and deliverance.
Thank You for Your forgiveness and for the enlightenment of Your Holy Word.
In Jesus Name, Amen.
